Caitlin Clark scored 37 points and made a career-high eight 3-pointers, Kelsey Mitchell added 30, and the Indiana Fever pulled away in the second half for a 113-90 victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday night.
Clark also had 10 assists as Indiana finished its five-game trip at 3-2. The Fever had lost their previous two games and were playing for the third time in four nights.
Indiana played without center Aliyah Boston, who missed the game with a right leg injury. Boston had 22 points and six assists in Saturday’s 109-102 loss at New York.
The Fever seized control early in the third quarter. Clark opened a 13-2 run with a 3-pointer, Mitchell followed with eight consecutive points, and Clark capped the stretch with a jumper for a 71-60 lead with 4:31 remaining in the period.
Indiana scored 33 points in the third and continued to create separation in the fourth. Lexie Hull’s reverse layup made it 97-82 with 4:37 left, ending any realistic chance of a Chicago comeback.
Hull scored 14 points, while Makayla Timpson added 12 for Indiana. The Fever made a franchise-record 18 3-pointers, with Clark accounting for eight of them.
Natasha Cloud had 16 points and seven assists for Chicago. Azurá Stevens added 14 points and eight rebounds.
The loss ended Chicago’s three-game winning streak and eliminated the Sky from playoff contention after Washington also won Sunday.
It was the first meeting between the teams since Aug. 8, when Indiana’s Sophie Cunningham was taken down by DiJonai Carrington on a hard foul during the Fever’s 90-86 win. Cunningham had three points in more than 11 minutes Sunday, while Carrington scored seven points in 18 minutes.
The Fever host the Connecticut Sun on Friday. The Sky visit Connecticut on Tuesday.
