A’ja Wilson just set the bar higher again. The Las Vegas Aces superstar locked in the biggest contract in WNBA history, signing a three-year, $5 million supermax deal that keeps the face of the franchise right where she’s built her legacy.

With the league’s new collective bargaining agreement raising the supermax salary to $1.4 million per season, Wilson’s fully guaranteed deal is not just historic it’s a statement. The WNBA’s biggest star now has a contract that reflects her impact on and off the court.

“I’m Not Leaving Vegas.”

Wilson has been saying it all year, and on Wednesday she made it official. After another championship run and her record-breaking fourth MVP title, re-signing with Las Vegas was the only move on her radar. “I know where I am. I know I love Vegas,” she said last week during USA Basketball camp. “I’m not leaving Vegas.”

The 29-year-old forward has been the heart of the Aces since they drafted her No. 1 overall out of South Carolina back in 2018. Since then, she’s collected four MVPs, three Defensive Player of the Year awards, two Finals MVPs, and seven All-Star nods all while building a dynasty in one of the league’s hottest markets.

Las Vegas brought back its championship core, including Jackie Young, Jewell Loyd, and Chelsea Gray, while adding former Sky guard Chennedy Carter on a camp deal. With Wilson locked in, the Aces are primed to chase a third straight WNBA title after a dominant 2025 campaign that included a 16-game win streak to close out the regular season.

Before the deal, the team had around $2.7 million in cap space enough to keep adding depth around their superstar core. But make no mistake: the Aces’ success begins and ends with A’ja Wilson.

Bigger Than Basketball

Wilson’s $5 million deal is more than a paycheck it’s progress. It symbolizes the growth of the WNBA and the value its players continue to generate on the court, in culture, and in business.

From Rookie of the Year to four-time MVP, A’ja Wilson’s story has been about dominance, evolution, and loyalty. Now, she’s not just the leader of the Las Vegas Aces she’s the face of how far the WNBA has come.
