The Atlanta Dream are beginning to look like one of the league’s most dangerous teams, and Tuesday night’s performance made that message unmistakably clear. Behind a impressive offensive game from Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, Atlanta rolled past the Connecticut Sun 91–75, extending their recent dominance in the matchup.
Howard set the tone early and never let up, scoring 36 points while lighting up the perimeter with eight shots from beyond the arc. Gray also helped out with 26 points of her own, forming a relentless scoring duo that overwhelmed Connecticut from the opening half. Together, they accounted for the majority of Atlanta’s early offense, creating a pace the Sun struggled to match.
Atlanta’s offensive flow was sharp and deliberate. Ball movement translated into efficient shooting, particularly from long range, where the Dream consistently found space and capitalized on defensive mistakes. The team’s confidence grew as the game progressed, highlighted by a late third-quarter run started by Angel Reese, whose first three-pointer in a Dream uniform helped ignite a momentum shifting run.
That energy carried into the fourth quarter, where Atlanta tightened its grip on the game. A decisive scoring run to open the period created separation, and Howard’s late-game shooting effectively took over the game. Her ability to score under pressure tells why she remains one of the league’s most dynamic offensive threats.
While Atlanta’s stars shined, the team effort was equally important. Reese delivered a strong interior presence with a double-double, and Jordin Canada orchestrated the offense by contributing both scoring and playmaking ability. The Dream’s balance between perimeter shooting and inside control proved too much for Connecticut to handle.
The Sun struggled to maintain consistency. Despite a strong performance from Aneesah Morrow, who recorded a double-double, Connecticut’s offense stalled during a critical stretch that spanned the end of the third quarter into the fourth. That drought ultimately erased any chance of a comeback.
With this win, Atlanta continues to build momentum and establish itself as a team capable of controlling both tempo and execution. As they head into their next matchup, the Dream carry not just another victory, but a growing identity rooted in confidence, and offensive precision.
