In a game defined by physical play and late-game execution, the Golden State Valkyries made just enough winning plays to outperform the Indiana Fever.

Veronica Burton had one of the most complete performances of her career, finishing with 25 points, six rebounds, and a career-high five blocks to lead Golden State to a 90-88 victory Thursday night. Gabby Williams added 19 points, six rebounds, and six assists, impacting the game on both ends as the Valkyries secure the win.

The final minutes were tense and unpredictable. Caitlin Clark’s deep three-pointer brought Indiana within one, and Aliyah Boston followed with a jumper to briefly give the Fever the lead. Clark committed back-to-back turnovers in the final 90 seconds, and a missed three in the closing seconds left Indiana scrambling for answers.

Indiana had one last opportunity, but Boston’s turnaround jumper at the buzzer fell short, sealing the win and igniting the sellout crowd at Chase Center.

Golden State’s defensive presence proved to be the difference. The Valkyries finished with 11 blocks as a team, consistently disrupting Indiana’s rhythm and forcing tough looks. Burton held it down, while Kiah Stokes added four blocks in support.

Clark finished with 16 points, six assists, and four rebounds but struggled to find efficiency, shooting just 3-for-12 from the field. Indiana never found its outside shooting touch early, missing its first eight attempts from deep and falling out of rhythm offensively.

Janelle Salaun provided a major lift off the bench for Golden State with 19 points and seven rebounds, helping stabilize the offense in key stretches.

Indiana will look to regroup on the road in Portland, while Golden State prepares for another test at home against Las Vegas.
